INVISTA Waynesboro Donates Two Diesel Trucks to Valley Vocational Technical Center

Trucks will be used for technical training for high school students

Waynesboro, Virginia (August 28, 2008) - The Waynesboro INVISTA site recently donated two of its Kenworth tractor diesel trucks to Valley Vocational Technical Center (VVTC). VVTC’s diesel mechanic program for high school students will use the trucks in its curriculum. The program, which has won national and state competitions, will train on the trucks by disassembling and reassembling them.

“The trucks were used for pulling trailers that carried product within the plant,” said Dirk Gold, Waynesboro reliability engineer. “We are updating our equipment and thought these trucks might be valuable to the VVTC in further expanding their outstanding program.”

“INVISTA believes in giving back to the communities in which we operate,” said Mike Laczynski, site manager. “We are happy to help assist the youth of our community as they will become Waynesboro’s future leaders.”

“It is companies like INVISTA that contribute to Valley Vocational Technical Center that aid in our programs’ success,” said Darla Miller, principal, VVTC. “The donation of these trucks will provide additional learning opportunities for our students. We thank INVISTA for being a good corporate citizen.”
